Photographed by Tatijana Shoan, transgender actress and model, Hari Nef, transforms into a silver screen icon for our cover story. Nef’s trademark long, blonde locks of bohemian wispy hair have been usurped by an Elizabeth Taylor inspired coiffure that helps conjure Nef’s inner film diva. Our creative cohort, who collaborated to bring drama to the set, was notorious street artist, Bradley Theodore. Theodore’s colorful, exuberant, and untethered splashes of pigment reference Nef’s spirit, and are splashed across her face! In our exclusive interview, Nef shares her thoughts on social media, identity, how she feels about being called transgender, what it means to be authentic, and what makes her happy!

In this exclusive interview with Hopper’s daughter, Marin Hopper, she shares intimate memories of her father, what photography meant to him, how it sustained him throughout his life, as well as sharing some of his favorite photographs.

Chicago-based artist Nick Cave doesn’t just make art, he creates spectacles, glorious happenings, where sculptural costumes -- namely his ‘Soundsuits’ -- bend, bounce, flounce, flutter, and flirt for enchanted viewers. Installations that can, and have, fit into a space as large as a football field, are transformed into otherworldly destinations where crystal balls, crocheted tea cozies, and reclaimed racist objects live in harmony. The objects and materials he uses are not random, but have a larger meaning, and a social significance. They are meant to fuel our curiosity, diplomacy, and our understanding of our place in society and how we view each other and ourselves.
Growing up in Netherlands, actress Sylvia Hoeks dreamt of a life outside her small town of Maarzheeze, finding escape, and inspiration in American episodics such as Charlie’s Angelsand Knight Rider. Hoek’s dreams came true at the age of 14, when she was scouted to be a model, which led her to drama school, and eventually, a burgeoning film career.
